1. Product Introduction

1.1 Product Features

Electromagnetic ultrasonic thickness gauge is an ultra small, non-contact thickness measuring instrument without acoustic coupling agent. It can measure the thickness of metal or magnetic conductive materials.

  • Small size and easy to carry
  • The requirements for the workpiece surface are not high, and there is no need to polish the rough surface, which can realize non-contact measurement
  • It is insensitive to the coating and can realize the thickness measurement of coated workpieces or corroded metal pipe.
  • Without acoustic coupling agent, it can realize the thickness measurement of high-temperature workpiece and perform temperature compensation

 

1.2 Performance Index

(1) General characteristics:

A. The instrument is composed of a host and a mobile phone, which are connected wirelessly via Wifi

2. Introduction of EMAT probe

2.1 Precautions for Probe Use

2.1.1 Precautions for Probe Operation

The electromagnetic ultrasonic probe contains a permanent magnet with a strong magnetic field. When it encounters ferromagnetic metal objects (such as iron, steel, nickel and other metals or alloys), it will generate strong attraction. Therefore, the following matters should be noted during operation:

1) All ferromagnetic objects (such as knives, screwdrivers, etc.) should be far away from the probe to avoid being attracted by the permanent magnet inside the probe, causing damage to the probe or injury to the operator

2) The strong magnetic field inside the probe may cause certain damage to precision chips, magnetic cards, watches, etc. Therefore, precision chips, magnetic cards, watches, etc. should avoid touching the electromagnetic ultrasonic probe to avoid damage caused by the magnetic field.

3) When moving the electromagnetic ultrasonic probe, please wear protective gloves and hold the probe firmly in your hand to avoid injury caused by sudden attraction with other ferromagnetic objects

4) Special care is required when placing the probe on a ferromagnetic workpiece to be tested. It is recommended to place the edge of the probe on the workpiece to be tested at a certain inclination angle, and then carefully place the probe. During the entire process, be sure to hold the host firmly in your hand. The operation process is as follows

5)Please do not move and rotate the probe on the workpiece during use, which will cause the metal at the bottom of the probe, the plastic at the bottom and the high temperature resistant fiber at the bottom to wear out, and the service life of the probe will decrease.

 

2.1.2 Precautions for Use of High-temperature Probe

1) When the measured workpiece is at high temperature, please use the handle to assist in measurement. When the temperature of the workpiece to be measured exceeds 300 ℃, it is not allowed to touch and measure for a long time. For workpieces within 500 ℃, it is recommended that the contact time be less than 10 seconds; For workpieces within 800 ℃, it is recommended that the contact time be less than 5 seconds

2) The magnet in the probe and the connecting wire in the probe will become invalid due to overheating of the high-temperature probe. Therefore, please keep the temperature of the probe case below 100 ℃. When high temperature workpieces need to be measured, please cool them quickly after measurement. Air cooling or other non corrosive cooling methods can be used

 

2.2 Precautions for Probe Replacement

2.2.1 Replacement of Normal Temperature Probe and High Temperature Probe

This part takes the replacement of the normal temperature probe into the high temperature probe as an example to explain the replacement method of the probe. The method to replace the high-temperature probe with the normal temperature probe is the same

1) Ensure that the instrument is in the shutdown state, and use the matching screwdriver to loosen the four screws above the probe (note: the screws contain special structures, if cannot be removed, do not use force to remove the screws)

2) Gently pull off the normal temperature probe and place it away from other probes

3) Connect the high-temperature connecting rod with the host through the fastening screws. Be careful to align the interface, and do not use strong force, otherwise the inner core of the interface may be damaged

4) Install the high temperature probe on the high temperature connecting rod, pay attention to aligning the interface, and do not use strong force, otherwise the inner core of the interface may be damaged

 

 

2.2.1 Replacement Between High-temperature Probes

1) Ensure that the instrument is in the shutdown state

2) Fasten the protruding part of the probe with two fingers, gently pull out the high-temperature probe, and place the probe away from other probes

3) Install the new high temperature probe on the high temperature connecting rod, pay attention to aligning the interface, and do not use strong force, otherwise the inner core of the interface may be damaged

3. Power Supply

Electromagnetic ultrasonic thickness gauge is powered by lithium battery. Under normal conditions, the continuous working time is more than 5 hours.

Each instrument is equipped with a battery charger. Both the host and tablet computer can view the host power. Please charge in time when the battery is low. When the host is charging, thickness detection cannot be performed.

 

Note: Do not use a non standard charger for charging. The instrument failure caused by the above reasons is not within the scope of the instrument warranty
