The portable series magnet yoke detector is a light and small magnetic particle flow detector device which magnetizing the magnetic work-piece by magnet yoke. It is suitable for flaw detect in varies parts, such as in oil-field, ship-building, diesel engine parts, miner, machinery, standard parts, oil pump and nozzle, airplane-manufacture, mobile parts, bridge-build, chemical industry, boiler, pressure vessels, railway industry products or the parts which have surface defect resulted in forging, quenching, welding and fatigue, such as connecting rod, crankshaft, bearing, high strength bolts, springs, forging parts, pipes, valves, blades, gears, rolling parts, anchor chain and the parts with complicated geometric figure.
There is AC, DC, AC-DC type of the portable series magnet yoke detectors. The power source for DC type detector is chargeable cell and can continuously work for 6 hours with one time charged. It is suitable for field operation of container, bridge and pipes without power supplier or high voltage is unable to connected. The AC type detector is charged with 220V and 110V power supplier. It is widely used since easy to operated, simple in structure, lightly in weight and easy to carry.

3. Principles and Applications
3.1 Charging(with charger or accumulator-HCDX-230 AC-DC,HCDX-230 DC):
Connect charger to power supply or connect charger to accumulator box with cable. 3 tubes will indicate charged state while charging. The red indicates quickly charged, the yellow indicates slowly charged (may continuously charge for 4 hours) and the green indicates 14 volts already charged. If the tube indicates yellow at start, it can be continuously charged but totally not more than 15 hours.
3.2 Accumulator
Accumulator is the power supply of probe. After turn on the switch, the monitoring circle is working. When voltage is over 10.4V, the tube turns green and means power normally supplied. When voltage is reached to 10.4V, the tube turns red flash and means voltage is reached to 10.4V, the tube turns red flash and means voltage is not enough. When voltage is at 10.2V, means self-protection is started and power supply to the probe soon stopped. When the tube continuously red flash, means voltage is not enough. Therefore, the working switch should be turn off and the accumulator should be power recharged.
3.3Fault detection
A:When detect it with DC (suitable for HCDX-230 DC,HCDX-230 AC-DC):

4. Maintenance
1)The charging duration is not over 15 hours for each time when charging with charging device. Disconnect the battery cable form charging device or turn off the accumulator switch to proven the current flow reversed.
2)It should be charged as quickly as possible when voltage of accumulator is not enough.
3)It should be charged for every 2~3 months when the detector is not used for a long time , so as to guarantee serviceable life of the accumulator.
4)While the probe is used, time of power supplied general 2~3 seconds for each time and maximum is not over 5 seconds. Time of interval is 3~5 seconds.
5)The rust-proof agent should be added when magnetic suspension liquid used.
6)Some oil lubricant should be added at moving joint before the probe used. The water, oil and magnetic particles on moving joint should be cleaned out and rust-proof oil should be smear after the probe used.
7)The power supply should meet the requirements of indications and in good earth contacted when detected with AC.
8)The switch should be released when moving the probe, so as not resulted of heat to the detector.
9)Short break is necessary if the detector continuously worked or obviously heated.
10)Working with the detector, it is not allowed under high temperature, high humidity or raining. The magnetic suspension liquid is not allowed sprayed on the switch, plug or sockets.

Principles of Magnetic Particle Testing
When the material or part under test is magnetized, discontinuities which lie in a direction generally
transverse to the direction of the magnetic field will cause a leakage field to be formed at and above
the surface of the part. The presence of this leakage field and therfore the presence of the discontinuity
is detected by the use of finely divided ferromagnetic particles applied over the surface, some of these
particles being geared and held by the leakage field.
The magnetically held collection of particles forms an outline of the discontinuity and indicates
its location, size, shape and extent.
